Six oil tanks, Gravesend
Six large redundant fuel tanks to decommission. Three held heavy crude oil, so we pumped in kerosene to break it down, lifted the sludge and residue away, and took a gas vapour reading inside each tank before anyone went in to clean and purge it.
Two oil tanks, Tottenham
Two tanks in a space too tight to lift them out whole, beside a hostel in a residential area. Our confined-space operatives cut them into hand-carried sections, then removed the pipework, the steel access door and a brick wall.
Gas-free certificates and the waste consignment note were issued on completion.
